A COMPLETELY BESPOKE SOLUTION WAS REQUIRED
The challenge for Craig Paulding at Lion Windows was that his customer wanted to restore all windows and surrounds to the original detailing found on the timber originals in 1890, including returning to the white sashes and black frames that were there in the very beginning.
There was to be no compromise on the authentic styling of the sash windows and it was imperative to replicate the original specification and colour, with narrow site lines, black and white wood foil exterior with cream wood foil internally. The Bygone Harmony was found to be the perfect timber alternative window to suit the project, with exclusive Beehive furniture in Pewter to match.
Ray Rabett, Technical Director for Masterframe Windows, the manufacturers of Bygones windows had this to say on viewing the installation “I was so impressed with this installation that I would go as far as to say that it is my in my top five installations viewed to date. The attention to detail is remarkable, even down to the detail around the roof area where the ceiling joists are true to the originals. There were no standard solutions in this quality installation, the head of the bay and the surrounding cladding replicates the original by the use of colour matched wood foil, blending seamlessly with the windows. You could not tell it was a PVC-U from the kerb, two to three feet away.”
The customer was delighted with the outcome and the building was greatly enhanced as the before and after pictures show.
