Developer of luxury homes in Derbyshire teams with award-winning Masterframe
An exclusive housing development in Derbyshire appointed Masterframe to create stunning sash windows for a cluster of bespoke properties. New PVC-U sash windows from the Vintage Collection feature in the prestigious, multi-million pound development called The Moorings in Oakerthorpe, near Alfreton.
Fourteen houses, with four and five bedrooms, sit on a two acre site which previously included The Anchor Inn pub. A total of 280 sash PVC-U windows, complete with Secured by Design as standard, were used throughout the luxury development, set in rolling Derbyshire countryside.
The Vintage Collection uses heavy duty balances like Torso II and robust cam catches for maximum security and reliability. Engineered with precision, the Vintage Collection is designed for clients who appreciate authentic, chamfered sashes with an external staff bead frame.
At The Moorings, the windows feature an integral mullion, which enhances the overall appearance and creates a contemporary look with increased glass area and slimmer frame sightlines. The PVC-U windows for this project were finished in white wood foil, which creates a practically unbreakable, incredibly durable and long-lasting finish.
They are also virtually indistinguishable from timber sliding sash windows and are solid, robust and reliable. With greater detail than other collections from Masterframe, Vintage is in a league of its own. The range has been designed for customers who appreciate authentic detailing.
David Ashley Developments Ltd, which is a sister company to David Ashley Construction Ltd, opened talks with Masterframe in 2017 – around the time the site in Derbyshire was acquired and plans to create a new housing development were revealed. Amelia Johnson, Project Manager at David Ashley Developments Ltd, worked closely with Masterframe to ensure the luxury development included high quality, traditional construction methods.
She says: “Our relationship with Masterframe has been great. We worked with them on another development in Breadsall in Derbyshire, so when we were doing these houses at The Moorings, we knew Masterframe’s windows were the only windows we wanted. “We ordered every single window, which made up the 14 luxury, four and five bedroom houses, from them and we were very pleased with Masterframe, and its products. There were no issues at all.”
David Ashley Developments Ltd, which is based in Alfreton, in Derbyshire, formed in 1998 and has already established a name for itself within the construction industry. Its aim is to provide the housing market across the East Midlands with high quality, traditional properties. Each house within The Moorings development offers spacious accommodation complete with exceptional finishes and specification throughout.
With an open plan kitchen and bespoke living area, along with bifold doors to create a seamless link between the inside and outside, these spacious properties are perfect in today’s market. Mixing quality with luxury and practicality, a huge amount of designer detail has gone into creating this unique development in Derbyshire.
