MASTERFRAME WINS NFA NEW PRODUCT OF THE YEAR WITH TIMBERWELD®

Masterframe has won New Product of the Year at the National Fenestration Awards (NFAs) for Timberweld®. Timberweld is a patented method of jointing frames to create an authentic timber butt-joint effect – on both sides of the window. It looks as good inside the home as it does outside.

The Timberweld technology also ensures edges are completely sealed, stopping draughts, moisture or insects getting in. It’s a tried and tested method that’s been used on Masterframe vertical sliders and was introduced for use on flush casements in the past two years.

Masterframe – which also won the coveted NFA Fabricator/Manufacturer 2018 – is the only manufacturer licensed to use this technology on sliding sash windows. Timberweld has also been licenced to a growing number of respected fabricators for flush casements, including Aztec, CWG, FastFrameUK, Fortress, HWL, John Fredericks, Modplan and Window Tech Trade among others.

Carol Slade, Sales & Operations Director of Masterframe, comments: “We’re delighted to have won this award, on top of our win for Fabricator 2018. It means a lot to have been voted the best by a knowledgeable industry audience.”

Alan Burgess, MD of Masterframe – and one of the innovators behind Timberweld – adds: “Timberweld is an innovative solution for its time. The flush sash market has taken off and fabricators need a timber-look joint that is right for timber-alternative windows and doors. That means an authentic butt-joint look inside and out, robust long-life performance, and the ability to be made cost-effectively at scale. It’s fantastic to see that the industry gets this too!”

Now in their fifth year, the NFAs reward the very best in the fenestration industry, and they’re run and decided solely by voters in the industry.
